# Just Approved for the Amazon Influencer Program? Here's Exactly What to Do Next

The biggest mistake a new Amazon influencer makes isn't filming bad videos. It's reviewing the wrong products, and not knowing what to do once you've been approved.

If you just got into the program and you're asking "What now? How do I actually make money? Where should I focus?", this checklist is for you.

I've been an Amazon influencer for over three years and have posted more than 1,700 product review videos to my storefront. Along the way I've learned what works and what doesn't, and I want to save you the time and frustration I went through when I started.

## Step 1: Confirm You're Approved

You'll know you're in when the blue lock on your account disappears. If it's still there, your videos are still being reviewed. Be patient. It usually takes three to five days, sometimes up to seven.

Once the lock is gone, you'll get a notification that you're in the program and can start setting up your storefront.

## Step 2: Set Up Your Storefront (Keep It Simple)

Your storefront is your home page on Amazon. To start, you only need the basics:

- Upload a photo of yourself

- Name your storefront

- Optionally connect your social media accounts (they don't have to be the accounts you applied with)

Pro tip: Bookmark your storefront tab. It can be surprisingly hard to navigate back to where you manage your content. If you use ReviewPro, there's a storefront shortcut right in the top header.

Don't get fancy here. The goal is to start posting content, and the easiest way to do that is the yellow button to upload your first review video.

## Step 3: Understand Onsite vs. Offsite Commissions

This is where a lot of new influencers get confused.

### Onsite commissions

These happen on Amazon. A shopper watches your review video on a product page, adds the product to their cart, and buys it. You earn a commission.

How much of your video they need to watch is something Amazon keeps secret. From what I've gathered, it's at least around 50%, which is why it pays to make review videos people actually want to watch. You can track your average watch percentage under Manage Content, but don't stress over it. It will move up and down as you post more.

### Offsite commissions

These come from promoting products off of Amazon: shoppers buy through a link you share elsewhere, or you send them to your storefront and they buy from there.

### Where to focus

Prioritize uploading review videos directly to Amazon product pages. They perform far better and will earn you a lot more commissions.

## Step 4: Post Consistently, Not Frantically

The first thing to do after approval is start uploading review videos. But don't burn yourself out by posting 50 in a day, then 20, then 30, then fizzling out.

Aim for 5 to 10 review videos a day, every day.

### Phone or computer?

Use whatever is convenient. You can earn just as much filming on your phone as recording on your computer. Pick based on the product: if it's easier to film on your phone, do that. If a desktop and screen-recording tool like Loom works better, use that.

## Step 5: Review the Right Products First

Once you start looking around your house, you'll realize there's a lot you could review. The real question is what's worth your time. That's why I recommend using ReviewPro from day one.

### The metrics that matter

ReviewPro adds a dashboard on top of every Amazon product. The most important number is the Pro Score, which shows how good an opportunity a product is. It's based on demand minus competition:

- Demand: sales in the last 30 days and revenue (sales times price)

- Competition: how many other influencers have already reviewed the product

If a product already has hundreds of videos, it may not be worth your time. ReviewPro also shows where your own video sits on the page.

### Start with your recent orders

Most people shop on Amazon, so your order history is the perfect starting point:

1. Go to your Amazon order history.

2. Click the black button in the bottom right to open the table view.

3. Sort by highest Pro Score, or filter for products with zero influencer videos. Those are your fastest wins.

4. Also check 30-day revenue and daily sales.

Prioritize those products first. You'll have direction, and you'll know your time is well spent.

## Step 6: Give Yourself Time to Find Your Voice

Your first 20 to 30 videos, maybe even 40, are all about getting comfortable on camera and finding your voice. I promise, the more you review and upload, the better and faster you'll get.

Don't worry about anything else yet. Review a product, upload it to Amazon, and start with the most profitable products first. Over time you'll get more consistent, your commissions will grow, and you'll feel the momentum build.

## Your New-Influencer Checklist

1. Wait for the blue lock to disappear.

2. Set up a simple storefront and bookmark it.

3. Focus on onsite commissions.

4. Post 5 to 10 review videos a day, consistently.

5. Start with your highest-opportunity products from your order history.

6. Give yourself 20 to 40 videos to find your voice.
