If you're trying to understand the differences between the Amazon Associates and the Amazon influencer program, then this video is for you because I'm gonna be explaining the key differences between both of the programs and also the requirements, what it takes to get approved to each, but most importantly, how to decide which program is best for you to join, depending on where you're at and what your long-term goal is.

Also, my name is Mark McKeller. This is a brand new channel. If you could do me a huge favor. Hit the like button and subscribe, especially if you wanna learn more ways, tips, and strategies to make more money on Amazon. When you hear Amazon Associates or Amazon affiliates or Amazon influencers, or the Amazon Bouncy program, it's all under the same umbrella of Amazon's affiliate marketing program, which has a goal of promoting and referring products to buy on Amazon through affiliate links.

Okay, now the two main programs under this umbrella. Or the Amazon affiliates or Associates program? It's the same thing. Okay. And the Amazon Influencer program. But the main difference between the two programs is essentially where you are promoting products on Amazon or off Amazon. First, let's talk about the Amazon Associates program or the affiliate program.

It's the same thing. Okay. It's actually one of the oldest affiliate programs ever created. Now, once you get into the Associates program, Amazon is gonna give you a unique affiliate link. Tied to any product on Amazon. So you can go onto Amazon, click any product and copy your affiliate link and share that wherever you want.

Let's say someone clicks on that link. They make a purchase, you earn a commission. Now the commission depends on two things. The product category that it's in, but also the price point of that product. Okay. I'll go over that later. But essentially with this affiliate link, you can share that on your Facebook profile.

If you have a blog, you can share it there. Alright. That's the power of the Associates program is essentially earning commissions by just referring products. And the biggest thing here is when you're in the Associates program, you are sharing links. You are creating content off Amazon, okay? Where people are consuming it on your blog or website or YouTube channel, and it helps drive more traffic onto Amazon.

Alright? And this works especially well if you create evergreen content, meaning you create content that people search for or watch or consume for months and years to come. Okay? That means that you can write. One blog post about how to would carve if you're a beginner, okay? And you refer a beginner wood carving kit that's on Amazon.

That's a topic, that's a niche that gets consistent demand and views for years to come. Alright? There's always new people interested in it. Overall. After taking the time to create that blog, you have the ability to earn commissions ongoing for an extended period of time through your affiliate link. Now, the requirements to get into these associates program are pretty minimal, just in a few things.

One, you need an active Amazon account, and two, Amazon is gonna ask where you plan to post content. And so you need to be able to. Copy and paste the link to your website or maybe YouTube channel or Facebook profile, wherever you plan to post and promote products. Alright? But the one kicker here is Amazon wants to make sure that you're legit.

So they're gonna give you a six month period to earn at least three commission sales through your affiliate links that you plan on sharing. Okay? If you do that, you're in the Associates program for good. But if you don't do that, then your account gets shut back down. And you have to reapply. Okay? If you're a brand new beginner at this, my recommendation is first, before you decide to sign up, decide on two things, decide.

What you plan to post content about. Okay, what niche, what subject, what topic. I highly recommend whatever it is that you're interested in or know a lot about. And then two, pick one channel, one place where you plan to post this content, TikTok, uh, website, uh, Facebook page, wherever. Okay? But when you apply into dissociation program.

You can tell them exactly where you plan to post content about, and you have a plan to get those three commission sales. Now, a couple things you probably didn't know about the Associates program. One, let's say that you, uh, create a blog post about, uh, how to Wood Carve for beginners, and you refer back to a beginner's woodcarving kit and someone in another country.

Read your blog, clicks on the affiliate link, buys that product. Just because they're in another country, you're still gonna earn a commission for that sale. Second, Amazon has a 24 hour cookie window, meaning if someone clicks on your link and any purchases that they make. In that 24 hour period, after clicking your link, you're gonna get a commission sale.

Also, let's say someone clicks on your link and they don't essentially buy that product, but they check out and buy other products. You are eligible to earn commissions for those other products, so it's still in your best interest to promote products and share affiliate links. Okay, real quick, if you wanna learn more on how to get approved into the influencer program.

Or how to increase your commissions month after month. I have a free guide, the Amazon Influencer Cheat Code that it'll link down below in the video description. It'll tell you everything you need to know about the Influencer Program, and think of it as my free gift to you for watching this video. Also, inside the guide is a link to my Facebook group, which you can join for free, where you can ask questions, get more help, and learn the best practices for the influencer program.

Like I said, this guide is in the video description. Make sure to grab your free copy. Now let's talk about the influencer program. This is similar to the Associates program. But it has a different approach by targeting content creators on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. Okay. So once you get into the program, instead of the focus sharing individual product links for people to buy off Amazon, Amazon actually gives you your own storefront where you can curate products, create idealist post product reviews for your followers to go to and buy.

So it's like a one stop shop. For your followers or anyone to visit and buy products, and then you're gonna earn commissions from those. Okay? But the main difference is inside the influencer program, you are now given the opportunity to leverage Amazon's traffic at an insane level. And what I mean by that is you can now earn commissions a lot easier.

Okay? So much faster by creating and sharing content directly on Amazon's website. For example, let's say I wanted to create a review video. For these beat headphones. Okay. I could create a review video, post it on my Facebook profile. Uh, hopefully someone clicks it and buys it. Maybe my mom will if she's nice enough and I'll earn a commission that way.

Okay. But with the Influence Program, I could take that same review video. I. Upload it onto Amazon, directly onto this product page, and when someone watches my video and then buys the product, I'll earn a commission. That is honestly insane, because if you didn't know this, Amazon gets 2.3 billion visitors every month on their website.

Okay? That is a lot more than my Facebook profile, so my review video has the chance or potential to get watched. Far more and far more frequently than just on my Facebook page. Does that make sense? So insulin just like that, my commissions can easily 10 XA hundred x with just one review video, okay? With just this product.

Does that make sense? That honestly is the power of the influencer program. Alright? You are leveraging Amazon's traffic like none other by simply referring products. It is honestly that easy. Now since you're given the opportunity to leverage Amazon at an insane level as an influencer. The requirements to get accepted and into the program are a little bit more strenuous and kind of more complex than the Associates Program.

So let me explain that, because the application process for the Influencer program, it's basically split into two separate parts. Part one is all about Amazon verifying your social media presence. Basically they're gonna wanna make sure that, one, you're a real person, and two, that you actually have an engaged social media channel.

So you can apply by submitting your Instagram, Facebook page, not Facebook profile, uh, YouTube channel or TikTok with this. Alright? When you apply and submit your channel, you're gonna hear back instantly if you're approved or not approved. And it's not a person that looks at your channel, it's a computer or like a bot.

That calculates your engagement level and makes an instant decision, yes or no if you are approved or not. Luckily, you have unlimited chances to apply with, okay? And you could switch it up whatever channel you apply with. But if you consistently get rejected, you need to focus on increasing your engagement, and that does not mean more followers.

It means how engaged is your following with your content. Best practices is one, you need to post every day at least two to three times a day for two to three weeks straight. Two, your followers need to be more engaged with your content. Meaning if you get more likes. That's gonna help your engagement if you post on your story and whenever someone clicks on it and watches.

That helps your engagement. If someone comments on any of your posts, that helps your engagement. If someone saves your posts, that helps your engagement. If you post a link in your story or someone hearts your story, that will help your engagement and the more that you engage with other accounts, your account is gonna get shown more to those accounts.

Which will help your engagement more. So those are just a couple things that you can do to help your engagement when applying, and if you wanna get more tips. Okay, I go into full detail on just this part of the application process in a separate video, I'm gonna link to above. Highly recommend watching that right now.

But once you get approved, you're gonna get your own storefront and you can start posting product review videos. But part two of the application process is getting approved for onsite commissions. Okay? Basically, Amazon wants to vet and really quality check. What review videos will be posted on their website?

Basically, you need to post three review videos that a real person will watch from Amazon and they're gonna approve or reject them. If you get approved, you are now eligible for onsite commissions, meaning any review videos that you post onto Amazon, you can now earn commissions from. But you need to get approved with those three videos first.

Alright. But the hard thing is if you get rejected, you only have three attempts at this. Okay? If you get rejected the first time and then the second time, and then the third time, then you have to reapply all over again with a new social media channel. Okay? It honestly sucks. And also Amazon doesn't really give any feedback or reasons why they rejected your video.

Okay? You just kind of have to like. Try again. I also have a separate video that goes into this full process. I give you a script to use and I gave you three examples of review videos that have consistently gotten approved. I'll link that video above and I highly recommend watching, but once you get to for onsite commissions, you're good to go.

Okay? You can now post as many product review videos as you'd like and earn commissions from those on Amazon, but that's something, difference isn't the influencer program. You're creating content that lives on Amazon. With the Associates program, you are creating content that lives off Amazon. Okay? But in both programs, you are earning commissions through referring and promoting products.

Now, if you're trying to figure out which program to pursue or what is the best thing for you, alright. A couple things to keep in mind. One, when you get into the influencer program, you automatically get into the Associates program as well. But if you are in the Associates program. You still have to apply as a beginner into the influencer program.

Alright? So if your overall goal is essentially to earn commissions, referring products on your own website, blog or uh, YouTube channel, then you can do that through the Associates program. But if you really wanna leverage Amazon the right way, in my opinion. I highly recommend the influencer program. Okay.

Because you're leveraging Amazon's traffic at an insane level by just reviewing and referring products through review videos. Okay? I'll link down below the application for the associates and the influencer program. Down below. Okay. My recommendation is just apply into the influencer program. Just see if you get in or not.

Okay? If you get in, you're good to go. Okay? You're almost there. But if you don't get approved, do not get discouraged, okay? Just come back and watch my other video on how to get approved into the influencer program with an existing social media channel or a brand new channel. Okay? But if you just wanna learn more about the influencer program, then I highly recommend watching this video right here.
